Customs officials seized Rs 37 lakh gold from a Doha passenger at RGIA

The Customs Officials seized Rs 37 lakh gold from a passenger at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) at Shamshabad on Sunday. The passenger, has arrived from Doha by flight no 6E 1714 was carrying gold in paste form weighing 1900 grams, concealed in a cloth pouch tied over his undergarments.

The passenger was intercepted while passing through green channel. On melting and conversion of the paste, gold weighing 1,164.90 grams valued at Rs 36,99,782 was extracted.
