Cyberabad: Good Samaritans rush out to help destitute
Cyberabad: With the ongoing lockdown leaving all restaurants, including Rs 5-a-meal centers, closed, many destitute are depending on these outlets are left helpless as many had to sleep empty stomach due to no food.
In a collaborative initiative with the Cyberabad police and a group of activists namely Prashanth, Sai Teja, Ramanjeet Salukh, Srinvas Bellam, Vinay Vangala, Vidya Sagar, Anumod, Rakesh decided to distribute 200 food packets destitute across Cyberabad Commissionerate every day until the lockdown is over.
Explaining about the same, Prashanth said, "After the lockdown, we thought we would distribute food grains or essential stuff to daily laborers but after CM has announced a slew of measures for them. But, people who don't have ration cards (destitute) will be the main sufferers so we decided to do a collaborative initiative with the Cyberabad police and distribute food packets to them till the lockdown is over."
"Then we thought of helpinFood packets provided to the poor and the needyg and then civic and anti-corruption activist Sai Teja helped us coordinate with Cyberabad Traffic department," adds Prashanth.
The NGO co-ordinated with 999 Chef in Saroor Nagar to cook food every day and the Cyberabad traffic police to collect food from them and distribute them across the Commissionerate.
