Cyberabad: Patrolling staff told to be on alert, win over public

Cyberabad: Cyberabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar on Monday advised the patrolling Blue Colts and staff to be alert during duty hours, after launching a training session for them in the commissionerate.

Addressing the participants, he told them to be friendly with people and maintain vigil and surveillance for securing information about offenders, including those who resort to financial crimes. He said the patrol officer, as part of crime prevention efforts, should go round the areas where crimes occur frequently after identifying them through TS-COP application.

Sajjanar asked the patrolling staff to carry out checks of suspicious persons found moving near bank ATMs as also the point books, and to question those moving in isolated areas. He called for visible policing by the protocol officer after identifying areas, where it is required, and to take up patrolling and enlighten people on the use of Hawk-Eye, Facebook, WhatsApp.

The CP explained the emergency response stating that the patrol car should immediately respond after a complaint is received from the control room/police station and render assistance to victims in shortest time possible. The patrolling officer should be aware of cognisable/non-cognizable offences, be courteous with people and reduce the dial 100 response time, he stated.

Among those present on the occasion were DCP Crimes Rohini Priyadarshini, SB ACP Ravi Kumar and members of the first batch of patrolling and Blue Colts.
