Cyberabad: Playing sports strengthens body & mind: Police Commissioner V S Sajjanar
Cyberabad: Cyberabad Police Commissioner V S Sajjanar on Wednesday observed that participation in sports events provides mental relaxation, besides strengthening the body. He was inaugurating the annual sports and games meet in the Police Parade Grounds. He received the guard of honour of police sportspersons from various zones before administering an oath to the participants.
The senior IPS officer released balloons and pigeons to mark the inauguration. Addressing the gathering,Sajjanar stressed the need for inculcation of team spirit rather than giving importance to wins or defeats. 'In sports winning a medal is not important, winning friends is important.' He said sports events help bring out the hidden talent and fighting abilities in persons, with an appeal to the participants to show the same spirit in their professional performances. "You should adopt good lifestyle," he advised the participants.
In his address, Madhapur DCP Venkateswar Rao urged the department personnel to take to sports, while impressing upon them to make physical exercises as part of their daily lives. "Only hard work paves the way for success, be it in sports or in any profession," he observed.
Among those present were Shamshabad DCP Prakash Reddy, Balanagar DCP Padmaja, IPS trainee Rithi Raj, women and children safety wing DCP Anasuya, Additional DCPs Mohiuddin, Lavanya (admin), Kavita (cimes-I), Praveen Kumar (traffic), Sandeep (SOT), Manikraj (CAR Headquarters), ACPs Lakshminarayana (CAR Headquarters) and RI Mattayya.
