Cyberabad top cop holds awareness meeting with software firms' honchos

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police Commissioner, VC Sajjanar, also a Nodal officer to deal with COVID-19, on Saturday held an awareness meeting about the virus along with Cyberabad Security Council, HYSEA (Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association) and Heads of IT companies.

Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner said that, a coordination committee has been formed involving Health department, GHMC, SCSC, HYSEA, ITE&C & Cyberabad Police.

He stated "The Telangana health department has agreed to do initial screening and provide isolation facilities with all IT companies and creation of awareness poster, specifically for IT employees with Do's and Don'ts."

"Developing a standard operation protocol document to be used by IT companies in case of any suspect case on how to deal with the situation.

The scope of document is to address steps involved in guiding the suspected case, persons around, premises sensitization,

communication to the neighbouring occupants and the building management.

Simultaneously the daily media bulletin received from health department, should be widely circulated in the IT corridors," stated the officer.

Dr Shankar, Director of Preventive Health at Fever Hospital while speaking at the programme stated that, masks including N-95 masks are not required to be worn by healthy persons and that is useful only for those who are ill and suspected of virus.

He further explained, "coronavirus spreads only if anybody is in close contact with the affected person within 1 feet distance or with personal contact whereas swine flu spreads even at 6 feet distance."
