Cybercriminals held for blackmailing minor girl

Hyderabad: Cyberabad police on Tuesday arrested two cyber offenders for harassing and blackmailing a minor girl and her parents, who are both doctors by profession. The accused, Hemanth and Sai, who are native of Rajahmundry, were arrested by the police with help of IP address.

According to Sanathnagar police, the accused had made friends with the minor girl on Facebook. Later they took photos of her in close intimacy and started blackmailing her.

They extorted Rs 11 lakh from her and later hatched a plan to extort huge money from her parents. The two accused morphed the photos of the minor girl and sent it to her parents and demanded Rs 40 lakh and threatened to post the photos on social media.

Parents approached Cyberabad Police and lodged a complaint, after which police traced the accused in Rajahmundry.
