DC Hanmanth Rao inspects JNNURM houses at Narreguda

Ameenpur: Sangareddy district Collector Hanmanth Rao on Saturday inspected the living condition of people residing in JNNURM scheme houses under the Rajiv Gruhakalpa at Narreguda in local municipal limits.

Even before all facilities were put in place, three months back 313 families living in huts were given in a hurry pattas adjacent to the roadside under Hyderabad and Serilingampally constituencies. Of them 150 families have built houses without any permissions. The Revenue officials have launched efforts to identify the unauthorised residents. The Collector's inspection was part of the efforts.

Rao directed officials to expedite the works of the remaining houses. Addressing the residents, he advised them to keep their colony clean and green, while giving importance to sanitation. He moved in the colony interacting with residents to know their problems.

The residents informed the Collector that their problems included power and water supply, sanitation. Rao directed officials to inspect the problems within 15 days. Later, he advised the residents to take up 'shramdaan' in the colony and take up tree plantation under the 'Haritha Haram' scheme and to segregate garbage.

Speaking to The Hans India, some poor residents expressed anger at the officials for failing to allot houses to them and providing housing facility to outsiders.
