Decision on reopening of schools, colleges today in telangana
Hyderabad: Soon after Sankranti, the State Government is likely to reopen educational institutions -- from high school to Intermediate colleges. The issue would be discussed at length during the meeting Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao would hold with Ministers, officials from the Education department and district collectors on Monday.
According to the present thinking, they would be reopened from January 18. The Government is also of the view that schools up to class VI should not be permitted to reopen during the present academic year.
The conduct of practical exams to the students of science stream at Intermediate level is mandatory. A decision whether to conduct practical exams and trimming the syllabus of all Intermediate courses would also be taken at the meeting.
Official sources said that the conduct of tenth class public exams with limited syllabus and reducing the total exams by half from 11 papers would also be discussed on Monday.
The meeting will also discuss the possibility of regular classes in professional colleges at graduate and post-graduate level and the measures required to run the institutions. A review of the implementation of new Revenue Act, challenges in implementing Dharani portal, registration of non-agriculture and agricultural lands would also figure in the meeting.
