Delhi resident held for cheating doctor

Hyderabad: The police of ACP F-Division, White Collar Offence (WCO Team–XII) of Central Crime Station (CCS), Hyderabad arrested the accused Chamarthy G Pattabhiraman (57), an ex-employee of TATA Fertilizers.

According to CCS sleuths, the accused along with other accused cheated the complainant to a tune of Rs 1.4 crore with false promise of securing orders for supply of the agricultural farm inputs under PKVY (Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana) 2016-17 to the Government of West Bengal after purchasing the material from Zytex Biotech Private Limited Mumbai.

To make the complainant Dr G Nagasaina Rao (60), Cardiovascular-Thoracic Surgeon, believe that they have obtained orders from the Government of West Bengal, the accused has created two fake and fabricated orders on the name of Dr Paritosh Bhattachharyya, IAS, Director of Agriculture and Pijush Kanti Pramanick, Director of Horticulture (Technical) Government of West Bengal, by forging their signatures, and gave the xerox copies of the letters to the complainant.

They induced him by making him believe the letter were genuine and they have obtained orders for the supply of agriculture farm inputs under the PKVY and collected an amount of Rs 1.4 crore in 2017 and absconded. Based on the complaint, a case was registered for cheating, forgery against the accused in June 2019 and the sleuths took up investigation.

They searched for the accused at various places at Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, at last on Wednesday the accused was apprehended at West Marredepally in Secunderabad and seized the original fabricated and forged letters from the possession of the accused.

Police found that the accused so far cheated several people. The case is under investigation.
