Demand for release of fee reimbursement
Vikarabad: Demanding immediate release of fee reimbursement, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) presented a memorandum to tahsildar, here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, ABVP district convener P Mahesh said dues of scholarships of about Rs 968 Cr for the academic year 2017-18 have been pending. The state government is showing negligence in releasing an amount of Rs 1842 cr for the academic year 2018-19, he said.
He said the situation is forcing students from rural and middle classes to give up the education. The leader also demanded that the mid-day meal scheme should be extended to government junior colleges. Social media district convener Madhukar, Srikanth, Srinivas, Raju, Sandeep, Prashant and others were present.
Activists of Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad staged a sit-in at Ambedkar Chowk, here on Monday as part of the state-wide protest by the organisation. Demanding immediate release of dues of fee reimbursement, the activists gave slogans against the state government.
The district leader of ABVP Uppala Rajesh said the negligence of the government is causing trouble to the students belonging to poor and middle class. Police took the activists to the station to clear the traffic.
