Development in Gadwal stalled after TRS took reins: DK Aruna

Update: 2019-11-15 22:21 IST

Gadwal: Former Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party senior leader DK Aruna, while addressing the media at her camp office in Gadwal, slammed the State government and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders for not taking up even a single development work in the last one year since they had taken over the State for the second time. Aruna said that the Road Over Bridge which was sanctioned long ago on the Raichur-Gadwal Highway has been pending and causing a lot of inconvenience to the commuters. She alleged that the contractors, who were from the ruling TRS party, have siphoned off the money and have left the works under pending.

Adding further, she said that the recent programmes like 30-day action plan in urban and rural areas were just a gimmick by the State government to attract the attention of voters as the elections for the municipalities were nearing. She questioned the TRS leaders as to how much money had been spent by the TRS leaders in each ward and from where this money has come from. She also alleged corruption in the cow distribution scheme, and said that the government was procuring cows from the central defence department for just Rs 1,000 and selling it to beneficiaries at Rs 15,000. She sought who was the authority in the State deciding the cost of cows.

Aruna also slammed the government for its failure in not depositing Rythu Bandhu money in the accounts of hundreds of farmers in the district. "The TRS government has not taken up any kind of development works in Gadwal in the last one year. The government has failed to provide loan waiver, Rythu Bhandu and pensions to the poor. On the top of this, there is rampant corruption in every scheme launched by the TRS government," observed the BJP leader. The BJP leader demanded that all the lakes and reservoirs should be filled with Jurala waters as there was still large scale inflows into the reservoir and said the farmers in the district must get water for the second crop. She alleged that all the resources like land, sand and others were under the control of TRS leaders. She said that condition of roads in Gadwal was pathetic and nothing has been done to improve them.
