Devotees rush continues at Kanakadurga temple in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: Devotees rush is continuing at Durga temple on Wednesday even though the Dasara festival celebrations came to an end on Tuesday evening. A large number of Bhavani Mala Dharana devotees continue to visit the temple as part of their relinquishment of Bhavani mala Deeksha.

The temple management successfully completed the festival celebrations with the celestial boat ride of Sri Durga Malleswara Swami in Krisha River to mark the culmination of Dasara festival celebrations. As many as 2.10 lakh devotees visited the temple on Tuesday on the occasion of Dasara. A large number of devotees also visited the celestial boat ride event.

Several VIPs including DGP Goutam Sawang visited the temple and offered special pujas. Especially the devotees who wore Bhavani mala thronged the temple from early hours. The temple management made special arrangements for the convenience of devotees as per the relinquishment of Bhavani mala.

Minister for Endowment Velampalli Srinivas, MLAs Malladi Vishnu, Jogi Ramesh, District Collector Md Imtiaz, Police Commissioner Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, and several officials took part in the celestial boat ride event. The colourfully decorated swan boat made three rounds in Krishna river with the procession idols of Sri Durga Malleswara Swami and Bhramarambika. The temple priests and devotees chanted mantras and slokas.

Later, Temple Executive Officer (EO) Suresh Babu and temple priests conducted homam and offered Poorna Aahuti to the Goddess Durga as part of the conclusion of festival celebrations.
