Dharani is not for people but for BRS leaders: Kishan Reddy

Hyderabad: Union Minister Kishan Reddy alleged that the Dharani portal was not brought for the people. He said that many land disputes emerged after the Dharani portal came into existence.

Lakhs of farmers are said to be facing trouble with the Dharani portal. Farmers have to go around the courts for justice. He alleged that brokers were benefiting from Dharani.

Kishan Reddy said that land disputes have increased multifold with the Dharani portal. He said that nearly 10 lakh applications under various categories are pending with the authorities. He criticized that there is no option in Dharani to correct the mistakes recorded in the Pass Books. The Chief Minister claimed that mutation will be done within minutes in Dharani, it is transparent and there is no corruption, but it is quite the opposite at the field level, he alleged.

The Union Minister alleged that legal land is being recorded as prohibitory land overnight resulting in problems for people. He alleged that the government was engaging in land encroachment. BRS leaders were criticized for committing land raids under the guise of Dharani.

Kishan Reddy said that the government said that Dharani was for the solution of land problems but it is for the leaders of the BRS party. Kishan Reddy said that middlemen and ruling party leaders are encroaching upon people's lands in the name of Dharani. Courts have also said that Dharani is a portal to nurture brokers. Kishan Reddy questioned why the cabinet sub-committee was set up if there were no meetings in Dharani. Has the Cabinet sub-committee given a report, he asked.
