Dharmapuri family associated with Jana Sangh: BJP
Hyderabad: The BJP State leader Loka Bhupathi Reddy said that the party's Karimnagar MP Dharmapuri Arvind is the second-generation leader from the Dharmapuri family which belongs to Jana Sangh Party (JSP).
Speaking at an event in Karimnagar, Bhupathi Reddy has recalled the services of Dharmapuri Venkatram, grandfather of Arvind, who served the JSP as its district party executive member.
Reddy said Venkataram worked in close association with late BJP leader Ale Narendra and 25 JSP candidates won as village sarpanches, besides, Samithi president way back in 1971.
However, due to prevailing circumstances of his times, father of Arvind and TRS Rajya Sabha MP D Srinivas had joined a different party, he said. However, the family remains a JSP family, he stated.
Earlier, the BJP Karimnagar MP felicitated Bhupathi Reddy, marking the occasion of completing two years of his joining in the saffron party.
Arvind said that he had taken the blessing of Bhupati Reddy before joining the BJP in the presence of the former home minister and present Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
