Disabled are not inferior to others: Nizamabad ZP chief Dadannagari Vittal Rao

Nizamabad: Zilla Parishad chairman Dadannagari Vittal Rao said that disabled persons are in no way lesser than others in any field. Women, Children, Disabled and Octogenarian Welfare department had organised a programme on International Day of Disabled Persons at Rajiv Gandhi Auditorium in Nizamabad on Tuesday. ZP chairman D Vittal Rao, District Collector M Rammohan Rao and MLA Bigala Ganesh Gupta inaugurated the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, ZP chairman Vittal Rao told the disabled not to worry about their physical disability and encouraged them to work with concentration and perseverance with their mental strength.

The State government, like parents, will always support them with various welfare schemes. Pre-metric and post-metric scholarships are being offered and a pension of Rs 3,016 is being provided to all the eligible disabled persons, he added.

District Collector M Rammohan Rao said that they should dedicate their lives to help the disabled to live in peace and added that celebrating a special day means having to hold these events throughout the year.

MLA Ganesh Gupta said along with showing respect and love for the handicapped, one should help them in their needs. He said that he will celebrate his children's birthday in orphanages and with mentally handicapped people.

Additional CP Usha Viswanath, DRDO Ramesh, Mepma PD Ramu, ICDS Sravanthi, officials, staff, representatives of NGOs, students and others were present at the programme.
