Displeased with dirtiness, Collector suspends Edapally village secretary
Edappally: Displeased over the uncleanliness in Edappally mandal, District Collector Narayan Reddy issued orders to suspend village secretary Nagesh.
The Collector made a sudden visit to the mandal headquarters and reviewed the work carried out under the Palle Pragati with the President of Mandala Praja Parishad, MPDO Shankar and Sarpanch Madhavi. Afterwards, they toured the streets of the village. The Collector expressed displeasure that the surroundings were unclean and that sanitation programs were not being conducted properly.
The Collector inspected MPDO office, Tasildar office, Govt School and Veterinary Hospital enquired about the details of the ISL toilets and soak pits being built in the village.
He was outraged that many orders issued by the district administration were not being implemented in the village. Donations from alumni of schools for the villages are estimated at Rs1. 70 crore.
However, the Collector expressed dissatisfaction that no such program was organized in the village. He suggested that the development and sanitation of villages should discussed with the public representative.
He further added that the school would take steps to hire a physical director. The study material and model papers will be provided to the tenth grade students. The Collector distributed notebooks to students on the occasion.
The Collector directed the District Panchayat Officer Jayasudha to suspend Nagesh, the village secretary, for dirtiness in the village.
Similarly, the Collector advised Jayasudha to issue a notice to the village sarpanch. The Collector ordered the Zilla Parishad CEO, & DEO to ask the MPDO, the school headmaster, for an explanation.
