Karimnagar: Observing September 1 as the protest day, the representatives of Upadhyaua Sanghala Porata Committee (USPC) took out a rally from Telangana Chowk to the Collectorate here on Sunday and staged a dharna.

USPC State committee member M Raghushankar Reddy said that the employees had decided to observe September 1 as Pensioners Vidroha Dinam, in protest against the implementation of Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) for the government employees, who were appointed after September 1, 2004.

He alleged that the State government intentionally passing time by not dissolving the CPS and deceiving the employees by blaming the Central government. The employees are losing huge amounts with CPS and public money is also getting wasted with CPS.

Raghushankar Reddy demanded the government to dissolve the CPS and to renew the Old Pension System (OPS) keeping in mind of the welfare of the employees. Otherwise, he warned of taking the movement to next level and to teach the government a befitting lesson in the coming days.

USPC representatives G Ashok, K Chandramouli, A Srinivas Reddy, T Thirupathi, K Kumaraswamy, T Koteshwar Rao, B Kanakaiah, N Kumara Swamy, Narsaiah, Y Uma Rani, K Narayana Reddy, Ch Janardhan, G Satyanarayana Reddy, BV Praveen Kumar, G Prema Latha, P Aruna Devi, B Pallavi and C Swapna were present along with others.
