Disclosing the details to the media at office of Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA) Khammam, ACB officers said the victim Dhana Laxmi approached ACB after the DMC demanded a bribe of Rs 40,000 for sanctioning the loan and allotting a position as Reserve Person.

"After receiving the complaint, we were successfully able to set up a trap and catch the DMC while accepting the bribe amount," ACB sleuths said.

The ACB officials warned of strict action against those who pay and accept the bribe. They appealed to people to inform them if any government employee demands bribe.
