District to procure 30,000 MT paddy this Rabi

Kothagudem: The district administration has planned to procure 30,000 metric tonne paddy in Kothagudem in Yasangi season, informed Joint Collector K Venkateshwarlu on Wednesday.

According to him, around 69 paddy procurement centres are being set up in the district. At present, six centres are set up at Cherla, Burgampahad, Mulkalapally, Ramachandrapuram, Nagupalli and Dammapeta.

The remaining 63 centres would be established in this week. Every grain of paddy would be procured by the centres.

Hence, the farmers should not fall prey to tactics of middlemen, Venkateshwarlu said.

Arrangements to dry paddy were being made the procurement centres, he added.

The Joint Collector also informed that due to summer, he urged the farmers to come to purchase centres in the morning hours from 6 am to 10 am and evening from 4 pm to 8 pm.

On the day, he inspected Cherla, Burgampahad, Mulkalapally, Ramachandrapuram, Nagupalli and Dammapeta paddy purchase centres and expressed satisfaction. He also interacted with farmers during his visit.
