DK Aruna slams government over delay in paddy procurement
Gadwal: BJP national vice-president DK Aruna slammed the State government's insensitive attitude over the delayed paddy procurement process in Gadwal district.
Referring various problems being faced by paddy farmers in the district at a press meet here on Thursday, the BJP leader said that even though farmers have harvested their crop and dried it and kept on the roads for more than 16 days, there is not a
single official either from agriculture, marketing or civil supplies department visited the farmers to procure their produce.
This clearly explains that the TRS government was simply boasting of procuring paddy, but in reality, nothing was happening, she criticised.
She demanded the government to immediately direct the officials concerned to open as many procurement centers as possible in each village and make sure that the farmer's produce was purchased and deposit the amount in their accounts immediately. She also took a jibe at Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao by saying that the CM has ignored farmers and their plights and focusing on elections and votes only.
She also said the State government had miserably failed in implementing its poll promises and just boasting by highlighting a few things and trying to get publicity for doing nothing.
