Mirylaguda (Nalgonda): Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief and party's Nalgonda MP candidate N Uttam Kumar Reddy felt that neither the Bharatiya Janata Party nor the Telangana Rashtra Samithi is competition to Congress in the State in the upcoming Parliament elections as people of the country were determined to see Rahul Gandhi as next Prime Minister of the country.

On Sunday, along with former minister and senior Congress leader K Jana Reddy, he participated in Miryalaguda Assembly constituency party workers meeting held at Miryalaguda town.

Stating that TRS party did nothing when party had 16 MPs in last Parliament, Uttam informed that people of the State were not in a position to believe Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his son KT Rama Rao's sugar-coated words and hollow promises.

He urged people of the State to back the Congress party in Lok Sabha elections to realise the promises made during bifurcation of the State.

He reiterated that as responsible MPs, they would raise the voice of the State and would put all out efforts to achieve railway coach factory at Kazipet, steel factory at Bayyaram, tribal university and reservations for STs and Muslim minorities as per their population.

Stating that party would win majority MP seats in the State, the TPCC chief predicated that he and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy was going to win from Nalgonda and Bhongir MP seats with huge majority of votes.

Former CLP leader K Jana Reddy, in his speech, said that CM KCR has been stabbing the democracy by encouraging defections. He urged people of the State to vote for the Congress in order to save the democracy in the State.

DCC president Shankar Naik, former Miryalaguda MLA Repala Srinivas, party leader Samula Shiva Reddy and large number of party workers attended the programme.
