Doctors take up unique initiative to keep street clean in Karimnagar

Karimnagar: IMA's vice president Dr BN Rao and Dr Geetha and some other doctors of Sawaran Street have come forward to adopt the streets where the government hospital and private hospitals are located under the Smart City programme.

They are trying to bring the new concept into clean and green management with installation of underground garbage bin containers. Doctor Geetha identified some spot for the installation of underground garbage bin containers on October 2.

At last Dr Geetha could succeed in motivating, convincing and involving all doctors of residing in the Sawaran Street. After a lot of persuasion Collector Sarfaraz Ahmad was ready to take initiation in instructing the municipal authority which is now installing underground garbagebins in Savaran Street. The garbage bin containers were installed here on Thursday morning.

With the underground garbage bins' installation would become a role model for the doctors' community across the country so that more shall come forward for the same. Following the first step of the Karimnagar doctors, professionals, intellectuals and industrialists along with businessmen have come forward to take up such programs for the sake of hygiene and cleanliness.

The underground garbage bins are installed in between vacant places of the shops, and trees. Besides Dr Geetha other doctors residing in the street like Dr Vijayender Reddy, Dr Vijai Laxmi, Dr Chary would take active part in the initiative. The doctors will have to appoint two persons for maintenance of the underground garbagebins.

Doctors dwelling in the Sawaran Street are committed and motivated by Dr Geetha and Dr BN Rao Vijayender to make it a smart street.
