Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar warned of stringent action if any person is found spreading fake news and videos on coronavirus. He said so far only one person was suspected to have contracted the virus in an IT company and it is also not yet confirmed. But the panic, which is being created through social media, is not acceptable, he said. "Moreover, a false message is being spread that the entire IT corridor is vacated today, but it is not true. Anyone found to be spreading such kind of rumours will be dealt with severe action," he warned.

Sajjanar said that he had instructed the CCS to monitor the complete situation and tag the ones, who are spreading fake news. Names of the persons affected with the virus and names of the companies shall not be revealed at any cost, he stated. State DGP Mahendar Reddy already issued an advisory via tweet and noted that people are requested not to spread rumours in Social Media.
