Doubts raised over attendance of Telangana Inter II-year exam candidates

Hyderabad: How many candidates attended second year Intermediate Public Examination, March-2020 (IPE-2020)?. The data released by the officials of Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) differs vastly from what they have released on Friday as revised list.

For example. the official district wise gender-wise pass percentage of the second year of the IPE-2020 released by the State Education Minister, Sabita Indra Reddy on June 18 said, the number of total candidates appeared in the Medchal district were 60,159 and the district pass percentage was 75. However, the revised official release of the board said that the total number of candidates appeared were 53,083 and the district pass percentage now is updated to 80 per cent.

The difference in the number of candidates attended between the two versions of the TSBIE stands at 7,071. Also, when the number of candidates attended have gone down, the percentage of the district has gone up in the revised official version. Similar is the case with the Komaram Bheem (Asifabad) district. While the official version released by the Minister had claimed the total number of candidates attended in the second year examination were 4,173 and the district pass percentage was 74. In the revised official version, the number of candidates attended is pegged at 3,681 and the district pass percentage stands at 80 per cent.

Just like in the case of Medchal, the difference in the number of candidates attended between the official version announced by the minister and the revised one announced by the Board is 492. It is not the lone case in which discrepancies have been cropped up between the two official versions.

In the official version of the results announced by the minister, the total attended candidates in Ranga Reddy district were 60,771, as against 53,115 candidates appeared to the examinations as per the revised version, making the difference in the number of candidates attended to the examination between the two official versions stands at 7,656.

Likes wise there are differences cropped up between the two various regarding the number of candidates attended to the examination and the overall pass percentage of the districts have been updated in the revised version. However, the total number of candidates attended to the examination in the State remained 4,11,631 the same and the overall state pass percentage of 69 per cent for the second year IPE-2020 remained the same.

However, doubts are expressed as to how there could be discrepancies in thousands in case of the number of candidates attended to the examinations in different districts? Yet, the state level number of attended candidates to the examination remained unchanged in both the versions?
