Hyderabad: Dr Anand receives Banjara Ratna Award

Hyderabad: Dr Anand, a doctor by profession, film passionate and social worker and his mother Sujatha Gopal received prestigious National Banjara Ratna Awards at a grand event held in Nizam College on Sunday.

The awards were presented by ex-minister Ravinder Naik and present Kerala IG Lakshman Naik at an event organised in the loving memory of late Member of Parliament Swami Naik.

Dr Anand received the prestigious award for his exemplary work in the field of cinema and his mother, founder of Bnajara Mahila NGO, which organised around 160 free health camps for orphans and underprivileged.

Child Artiste Nehal, Aasya Foundation and others were among those who received awards in different categories.

Dr Anand dedicated the award to the victims of Delhi Riots, where innocent people lost their lives and he appealed everyone to rise above politics and join their hands to save the Indian constitution. He thanked every individual who supported him and requested everyone to come forward to serve the underprivileged.

He thanked the organisers, especially Tarachand and team for recognising their efforts.
