Driver fined of Rs 9,500 for damaging tree in road accident in Siddipet

The authorities have imposed a fine of Rs 9,500 for a man who hit a tree planted on the divider near Government medical college in Siddipet.

The driver is said to have rammed the vehicle into the tree after he lost control over his Tata Xylo. Learning the incident from the police, Horticulture officer, Samala Ilaiah reached the spot and imposed the fine.

The officer said that the government is spending lakhs on planting a sapling and watering them under the Haritha Haram programme in Siddipet. He said that stern action will be taken if those plants are damaged in any case.

So far, around one lakh fine has been collected for damaging trees across the town by the municipal authorities.
