Driver knocked down during bus trial in Yadagirigutta

Yadagirigutta: A driver was killed in a road accident that took place at the garage of the bus depot in Yadagirigutta on Monday. The deceased was identified as Gopagani Naresh Goud, a driver of Yadagirigutta depot.

According to sources, Naresh (33) reached Yadagirigutta bus depot by 7.20 am on Monday. As part of duties, he took the lock sheet at diesel bunk at the garage and was entering the mileage details of buses.

Meanwhile, another driver, Krishnaiah, was checking the condition of a bus by operating the brake and clutch. During the trail, the bus knocked down Naresh. He came under the rear wheels and was critically injured. Shocked staff of the garage shifted Naresh to government area hospital in Bhongir for treatment. However, after examination, the hospital doctor declared Naresh brought dead.

Yadagirigutta CI Narsimha Rao visited the spot and enquired with the staff of the garage about the incident. Based on the complaint of deceased family members, the Yadagirigutta police filed a case and took up the investigation.

Meanwhile, kin of the deceased driver Naresh staged a dharna at Yadagirigutta depot and demanded justice to the bereaved family members. They withdrew the protest after getting assurance from the Depot Manager.
