Drone Case: Telangana High Court grants bail to Revanth

Hyderabad: Fourteen days after his arrest on charges of flying a drone over the farmhouse of State Minister and TRS working president KTR, Congress MP A Revanth Reddy was on Wednesday granted bail by the Telangana High Court.

Justice K Lakshman of Telangana High Court, granted bail to Revanth Reddy after imposing two conditions, to execute two sureties worth Rs. 10,000 each and he would not interfere with the investigation.

The Judge observed that the accused is a Member of Parliament and the Parliament session is going on and his appearance in the ongoing Parliament session is needed, hence bail granted. Moreover, Judge also exempted Revanth Reddy for appearing before the police.

Salman Khurshid, senior counsel appeared for Revanth Reddy and informed the Judge that all accused in the Crime No. 224/2020 are enlarged on bail and Revanth Reddy is under judicial remand since March 6, 2020.

Further, he prayed the Judge to grant bail as the Parliament session is going on, moreover, all the sections included by the police in the Remand Order are bailable including Sec.188 IPC.

Since the petitioner has been granted bail, a criminal petition filed by Revanth Reddy seeking to suspend the order of remand dated March 5, 2020, passed by the additional chief metropolitan magistrate at Rajendranagar in FIR No.224/20 of ps Narsingi has become infructous.

The third petition filed by Revanth Reddy, seeking to quash all further proceedings in FIR 224/20 is adjourned after four weeks, directing the police to file a report explaining the investigating done so far.

On March 5, Revanth Reddy was arrested on the allegations of using a drone illegally to shoot the farmhouse purportedly owned by IT Minister K Tarakarama Rao at Janwada village under Narsingi police station limits.
