Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge will be ready by Oct: Official
Hyderabad: Principal Secretary to Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Arvind Kumar along with Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner Dana Kishore on Saturday inspected Durgam Cheruvu and took stock of the progress achieved in the construction of cable bridge across the river.
Construction of cable bridge will be completed by October this year, Kishore said. That apart from laying walking track and cycling track, an integrated lighting system is also being planned with an estimated cost of Rs 10 crore, he added.
He said the concessionaires apprised the officials about the progress of the works. The cable bridge is having a span length of 233.85 meters. The extra dosed cable stay technology is being adopted to preserve the lake heritage and beauty.
The bridge when completed will cater a dense traffic movement from road no 45 to Inorbit mall with a configuration of four lane traffic movement, two lane cycling track and an additional footpath of 2.5 meters.
All the works are performed at a height of 20 meters above from the ground level. The bridge will have facilities like walking track, cycling track and attractive lighting system to attract the tourists and people. The bridge will have steel railing on both sides.
