Eatala flooded with grievances at NIMS; assures to resolve issues
Hyderabad: Health Minister Eatala Rajender, who visited NIMS Hospital, Panjagutta for a programme on Friday was flooded with grievances and issues by employees from different categories including doctors, nurses, security and outsourcing staff.
NIMS Nurses Union president Asha Latha and Secretary Vijaya Kumari brought to notice of the minister about stoppage of issuing free medicines to NIMS staff under TRS government while there was no such issue for them in the last 25 years.
They reminded the minister that a representation to this effect was submitted to him during his last visit to the hospital and nothing was done so far.
In response, the minister spoke to Special CS (Health) and directed her to take necessary steps, staff said. Resident Doctors Association represented by its president Dr G Srinivas urged the minister to ensure NIMS conducts its Convocation every year.
Earlier, the minister inaugurated the new PET, nuclear medicine and Spect scan facilities that costs more than Rs 22 crore. The minister said that it will help in early detection of the cancer disease.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that steps would be taken to start a new OP block in NIMS soon.
