Eatala inspects Chest hospital
Hyderabad: In wake of five more positive cases coming to light in Kerala, Health Minister Eatala Rajender has instructed senior officials of the department to ensure coronavirus isolation wards are established in all districts thus increasing the beds strength.
He directed authorities to transform a separate 2-storey building in chest hospital premises as an exclusive coronavrus treatment centre.
This building with four wards will be equipped with 56 beds including 8 with ventillator support facilities. Minister wanted four individual rooms to house any infected patient if admitted in the hospital.
Eatala, who inspected coronavirus isolation ward and facilities in Gandhi hospital two days ago, visited Chest Hospital, Erragadda on Sunday.
He went around hospital and checked the facilities in the isolation ward. DME Ramesh Reddy, Chest Hospital superintendent Dr Mahbub Khan were also present.
Although Chest hospital has been shortlisted by the health department as Coronavirus treatment centre along with Gandhi and Fever hospitals, it is Gandhi which is at the thicks of things with admission of suspected cases and sample testing procedures.
According to authorities, Chest hospital which is equipped with ICU facilities for treating respiratory-related illnesses will be utilized only for shifting and treatment of critical and serious cases relating to coronavirus.
