EC denies permission for Ugadi celebrations in Pragathi Bhavan

Hyderabad: In view of the General Elections to the House of the People (Lok Sabha) the Election Commission of India has denied the permission to celebrate "Ugadi" festival in Pragathi Bhavan (CM Camp Office).

In a communiqué on Friday the ECI has informed that the State Government may organize the festival anywhere else other than at CM's residential complex in consultation with the Chief Electoral Officer, Telangana. The ECI has reiterated that all the provisions of Model Code of Conduct are fully and strictly complied with at the site of the festival.
