Economic Advisor’s daughter Ramya makes dance debut

Hyderabad: Ramya Subramanian, daughter of chief economic advisor to government of India, Dr. KV Subramanian, did her dance debut (Arangetram) at a colourful function in Ravindra Bharati auditorium on Sunday.

She is the 40th student of Shankarananda Kalakshetra, run by celebrated classical dancer and choreographer Padma Sri Dr Ananda Shankar Jayant. Ramya had been undergoing training at the institute for the last ten years. Ananda had in 2017 launched Bharata Natyam dance practice app she had conceptualized.

Ramya's dance to 'Bharati Vandana' song written by Rayaprolu Subba Rao impressed the audience.

Telangana government chief secretary SK Joshi was the chief guest at the event.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman sent her greetings, blessing her with great career ahead.

Noted Bharata Natyam dancer Dr. Chitra Visweswaran lauded Ramya's dance for Bharati Vandana and said she had depicted the Indian culture through her presentation. Telangana dance arts and culture director Mamidi Harikrishna also spoke.
