Economic experts call on Vinod Kumar
Hyderabad: Several economic experts called on Telangana State Planning Board Vice Chairman B Vinod Kumar on Tuesday and made some suggestions to the preparation of the budget outlay for 2019-20 financial year to be presented in the Assembly on September 9.
Former TSPSC member and retired Director Revenue (Taxes) T Vivek met Vinod Kumar and discussed the current economic scenario including the measures that can be taken to stimulate the economic activity.
The TSPSC member and the Planning Board took stock of announcements made by the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and also on the measures to be taken for stimulating economic activity.
It was felt that Telangana should leverage the policy measures put in place by the Union government such as FDI relaxation in retail sector.
In addition, government should place emphasis on small and medium enterprises and industry which requires relatively lesser capital and provides greater employment which triggers the purchasing power and creates demand for goods and services.
The leaders opined that Telangana had great geographical advantage for investment climate which should be highlighted for attracting investments and as a logistics hub.
Former Advisor Planning Commission of India New Delhi and former Telangana State Electricity Regulatory Commission (TSERC) Chairman Ismail Ali Khan also met Vinod Kumar and discussed the development activities in the State, particularly in power sector.
Khan has rich experience of 23 years in developmental planning and policy formation in the erstwhile Planning Commission of India, New Delhi.
