Education key to poverty eradication: Bandaru Dattatreya
Vikarabad: Eradication of poverty could be possible through education only, said the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Bandaru Dattatreya. He was the chief guest at the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of Sri Anantha Padmanabha Swamy College held here on Thursday. Glowing tributes were paid to Mahatma Gandhi and former Chief Minister Marri Chenna Reddy on the occasion. Dattatreya said Marri Chenna Reddy with a fore vision established the college keeping in mind needs of the students of this region. Many people who studied here are now in good positions now, he noted. He hailed the family of Chenna Reddy for developing the college. The HP Governor said the college started with 200 students and now the strength of 2000, which showed its importance in the region.
Marri Shashidhar Reddy, Manda Jagannatham, former minister, Prasad Kumar, R Krishnaiah, TSPSC member Vithal, MLAs Kale Yadaiah, Dr Anand, municipal chairperson Manjula Ramesh, college chairman Ravinder Reddy, Prof Purushotham Reddy and others were present.
