Educational bandh successful in Karimnagar
Karimnagar: The State-wide bandh of all educational institutions by various students organisations was successful with almost all private and government schools and colleges observing bandh in Karimnagar on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, All India Student Block State president Gavva Vamshidar Reddy alleged that the State government utterly failed in taking perfect steps in strengthening education sector in the State.
When private and corporate educational institutions are collecting more fees from innocent parents, the government even after knowing the problem, had not taken any steps in appointing special committee to keep a check on it, he alleged.
The government is intentionally not providing basic facilities in government schools and colleges thus indirectly encouraging private educational institutions across the State, he added.
If the government tries to shut the voice of student unions, Vamshidhar Reddy warned that the movement will be intensified to teach the government a fitting lesson.
He demanded the government take immediate steps for strengthening government educational sector along with keeping a check on fees in private and corporation educational institutions.
The police intervened and took student union leaders into custody when the leaders of various students unions were staging a dharna in front of Arts and Science College here.
Leaders of various student unions Surya Kiran, Rajashekar Goud, Bhanu, Chandan, Mahesh, Praveen Reddy, Keshi Reddy, Rohit Reddy, Sandeep, Srikanth, Raju, Venu, Mallesh and Suresh were present along with others.
