Hyderabad: It is now the turn of electricity employees to go on strike. As the talks between electricity employee unions front and the managements of the power utilities of Telangana held on Tuesday failed, the employees have decided to go on agitation from Wednesday.

The employees are demanding that management should apply the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh State Electricity Board service rules.

Services of the artisans should be regularised, application of revised pension rules to the employees who joined after February 1, 1999.

TS Genco and TS Transco should establish master trusts and appoint leaders of the unions as trustees.

Speaking to The Hans India, president of Telangana Electricity Trade Unions Front (TE TUF) chairman T Padma Reddy said that they have decided to go on with the agitation programme as planned.

They would hold a dharna in front of the Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company office on Wednesday and another one would be held on October 23 at the Northern Power Distribution Company office. However, this will not have any impact on power supply.
