Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy holds a review meeting on Mission Bhagiratha
Nalgonda: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy questioned officials concerned about the delay of works on drinking water schemes and directed them to finish all works within the set timeframe.
He along with District Collector, people's representatives and District Officials held a review meeting on Mission Bhagiratha, Irrigation projects including NSP, Kaleshwaram, Dindi lift irrigation and Brahmana Vellemla Lift scheme at District Collector's chamber on Monday.
After reviewing Grid and Intra works of Mission Bhagiratha in the district, he expressed concern over the snail phase of works even after sanction of Rs 2,867 crore for the scheme.
He ordered the respective officials to complete the works of OHSR tanks by December 25. He expressed ire over officials concerned after Devarakonda MLA Ravindar Naik filed a complaint of not initiation of works in his constituency.
Responding to Nalgonda MLA Bhupal Reddy's complaint, the Minister advised RWS and Public Health departments officials to work collectively and warned to take stringent action against contractors who destroy roads in the name of Mission Bhagiratha works. Responding to complaints of MLAs Baskar Rao and Gadari Kishore Kumar of showing work on papers against ground reality, RWS officials explained that they designed 100 days programme to complete all the pending works of Mission Bhagiratha in the district. The officials tabled mandal wise completed works in the district with facts and figures.
