Enhance number of Rajiv fellowships: VH to Centre
Hyderabad: All India Congress Committee secretary V Hanumantha Rao on Friday demanded that the Centre enhance the number of Rajiv Gandhi fellowships so that the downtrodden sections could be benefited.
Speaking to the media at Delhi, he said that only few hundreds of fellowships are being given and this was not enough for the SC, BC and ST students.
He said that the quota of the BC students should be enhanced substantially. He said that the Osmania University, which is the oldest one, should be provided with it. The fellowships should also be given in the universities of Andhra Pradesh.
Meanwhile, he demanded that the Centre withdraw permission to Uranium mining in Amrabad Tiger Reserve. He said that if permission is not withdrawn then he would launch a big movement.
