ESI SCAM : ACB finds Rs 1.76 crore financial fraud in HIV kits purchase

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials intensified their investigation in the multi-crore ESI medicines purchasing scam.

The officials found evidences of Rs 1.76 crore financial irregularities in the scam on Tuesday. They found two indents out of 22 indents in which they observed that the irregularities took place in the name of purchasing HIV kits.

The officials suspect Indian Medical Services (IMS) Director Ch Devika Rani's role behind the financial irregularities in HIV kits purchase.

To unearth the facts and collect evidences further they started probe on the role of staff belonging to IMS Director and Joint Director's offices.

Earlier during 2017-18 the government has allocated Rs 60 crore budget for the purchase of medical kits.
