Khammam: The year-long birth centenary celebrations of former Prime Minister late PV Narasimha Rao on Sunday started across the district in a grand way. Minister for Transport Puvvada Ajay Kumar participated in the programme as the chief guest and launched the celebrations at the district headquarters here on Sunday, organised by the district administration. Before launching the programme, the Minster lighted a lamp and paid tributes to former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Ajay said the history of PV Narasimha Rao is a big lesson for everyone to learn and praised the services done by PV Narasimha Rao during his stint as the PM. He said the State government is honouring the late PM by conducting year-long celebrations marking his birthday.

Khammam District Collector RV Karnan, Police Commissioner Tafsesr Iqbal and Kothagudem District Collector Dr MV Reddy and Superintendent of Police Sunil Dutt paid rich tributes to the former Prime Minister.

Local MLAs organised late PV Narasimha Rao's birth centenary celebrations in all constituencies across the district.

On the other hand, the district Congress Committee (DCC) Khammam wing conducted PV's birth celebrations in which, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and DCC president Puvvala Durga Prasad participated along with party leaders.
