'Everyone should take measures to prevent Malaria'

Kothagudem: Everyone should take the responsibility to prevent Malaria disease in the society, said District Health Officer Dr L Bhasker.

On account of World Malaria Day on Thursday, the medical and health department has conducted a special programme and took out a rally here in the coal town.

Dr Bhasker flagged off the rally held on the occasion where in staff of the Health department participated. Later a meeting was conducted by the department.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr Bhasker stated that everyone should take the responsibility to prevent Malaria.

He also added that this year World Health Organisation gave the slogan "Zero Malaria Starts With Me" to make everyone to do their bit to prevent the disease.

District Malaria Officer Dr K Singha Raju said, in the district 447 malaria cases were found this year and 328 complicated panchayats were found in the district. He also said the department was ready for distributing mosquito nets in the district.

Malaria Programme Officer P Vinod, Dy DMHO Dr Naresh Kumar, officers in the department Dr Bhavesh, Prasad, L Chandra Shekar and G Venkateswarlu and others were attended the programme. A skit by Kalajath troupe attracted all.
