EVMs stored in SRR Degree College: Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed
Karimnagar: All the EVMs used for Lok Sabha elections held on Thursday (April 11) were stored in strong rooms in SRR Degree and PG College in Karimnagar under tight security.
District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed along with Commissioner of Police VB Kamalasan Reddy inspected the EVMs stored in the indoor stadium of SRR College on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said the EVMs of seven constituencies - Karimnagar, Manakondur, Vemulawada, Sircilla, Choppadandi, Huzurabad and Husnabad - which fall under Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency, were stored here. CCTV cameras were installed in the premises of strong rooms. Police security is deployed at the strong rooms till May 23, until the counting is held. The counting of votes will be taken up in SRR Degree College and all arrangements for it will be made, he informed.
Elections Observer TK Shibu, Joint Collector GV Shyam Prasad Lal, special officer Praveenya, Assistant Collector Rajarshi Shah and ZP CEP Venkata Madhava Rao, RDOs, Collectorate Administrative Officer P Raj Kumar and other officials were present.
