Explain difference between CAG report, budget estimates: Akbaruddin Owaisi
Hyderabad: Leader of Majlis Legislature Party in Assembly Akbaruddin Owaisi on Wednesday sought clarification from the government on difference in budget figures and the Comptroller and Auditor General of India reports.
Participating in the debate on the general discussion on the State budget, he said that as per CAG, the expenditure of the financial year 2018-19 was shown as Rs 1.19 lakh crore and Rs 98,000 crore for the Financial Year 2019-20, whereas the figures shown in the budget were different.
He said that it was not clear from where the government would mobilize additional revenue as the real estate sector is in slump and the transport sector is also on the decline. He said that the government has also shown that it would get Rs 4,000 crore and Rs 5,600 crore respectively from housing and mining which is not possible.
He said that it was a mistake to consider the real estate sector as a golden goose as it has been experiencing slump. He said that in the past six years the government expected to get Rs 33,900 crore by the sale of lands whereas it realised only Rs 3,987 crore.
He said that the rise in central grants and aid marginal for the next financial year as the State would get only RS 27,000 crore. He said that the Centre did not consider the State's request to give special funds to Mission Kakatiya and Mission Bhagiratha. It has also not given national project status to Kaleshwaram. Akbaruddin alleged that the Centre has been showing step-motherly attitude towards Telangana.
