Explosion at scrap centre leaves one dead, two hurt in Suryapet

Suryapet: Explosion at a scrap-purchasing shop created panic in Suryapet town on Friday. In this incident, a person was killed on the spot whereas two others suffered severe injuries.

According to locals and the police, the explosion took place in Venkatasai Plastic House operating in an acre land near Ayyappa temple in the town.

All of sudden at about 11.30 am, chemicals-stored plastic can exploded with huge sound. In this incident, a worker of the shop Ramchandra Sahu of Bihar State was killed on the spot, whereas two others belongs from Uttar Pradesh and Suryapet respectively suffered severe injuries and were shifted to area hospital in Suryapet for treatment. The condition of one of the injured was stated to be critical.

Meanwhile, the people of surrounding areas were in panic after the blast. After receiving information, the local police along with Clues Team rushed to the spot and collected the evidences.

It is learnt that one Nagaraju was carrying out the scrap business at the site for the last three years and as many as 35 persons have been working at the shop.

Suryapet Additional SP Pujitha and DSP Nageshwar Rao visited the spot and enquired about the incident. Suryapet town CI Shiva Shankar registered a case and initiated the probe.
