Extending holidays is not the right decision: PDSU

Update: 2019-10-18 23:27 IST

Nizamabad: Progressive Democratic Student Union (PDSU) child unit on Friday staged a dharna in front of the Collector's Office in Nizamabad in support of the RTC workers' strike and against extending holidays for schools and colleges.

The students, who participated in the dharna, said that holidays were given to schools from September 18 to October 13 due to Bathukamma and Dasara festivals. All the educational institutions, which are supposed to reopen on October 14, are still closed due to holidays' extension. PDSU leaders felt that it is not a wise decision to extend holidays for schools without trying to solve the RTC employees' problems.

Later they submitted a memorandum to the Revenue Officer. PDSU district secretary Karthik, city vice-president Saikrishna, PDSU children's team members Pravin, Yuva, Nishita, Maha, Niha, Bhavani, Sindhu, Charan, Venkat, Rishi, Dhruva, Rishi, Sankith, Bunny, Bindu and others participated in the dharna.
