Narayanpet: Farmers in trouble as paddy fields in 2,500 acres get inundated

Narayanpet: With more than 7 lakh cusecs of water coming from the Bheema and Krishna rivers, the confluence in Krishna mandal in Narayanpet district is receiving heavy flows into Krishna river. With this the paddy fields along the banks of Krishna river in the mandal have been inundated and got submerged in the flood waters causing largescale damage to the paddy fields.
District Collector S Venkat Rao visited the areas in Krishna mandal and took stock of the situation. The Collector assured the farmers of necessary help from the government. It is estimated that more than 2,500 acres of paddy fields along the Krishna banks have got flooded due to the heavy inflows.
