Farmers told to focus on organic farming
Siddipet: Former minister T Harish Rao on Friday suggested to farmers to go in for organic farming by making use of organic fertilisers to reap better harvest. The farmers with passbooks will get Rs 10,000 under Rythu Bandhu scheme, he declared.
Harish Rao distributed passbooks to the farming community. On the occasion, he said the farmers should use the organic fertilisers and avoid chemical ones. The State government was keen on farmers adopting organic farming to get golden harvest, he said.
The State government had so far been cleansed up 95 per cent of revenue wing, he informed. The farmers with passbooks would surely get Rythu Bandhu amount of Rs 10,000 in two instalments, which was Rs 8,000 earlie.
Since the chemical fertilisers were causing cancer like diseases, the farmers should avoid their use, he exhorted them. Harish said the farmers should plant saplings in their fields and banks of farmlands. The government would give 100 per cent subsidy for sheds for sheep and buffaloes, he added.
