Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Sunday said that the fear of imminent defeat in Huzurnagar Assembly by-election forced TRS leaders to visit Makhdoom Bhavan, the headquarters of CPI State committee, seeking its support.

He said that Congress is all set to win the by-election with a majority of not less than 30,000 votes and TRS defeat is inevitable. Uttam, in a media statement, appealed to the CPI leaders not to support the TRS in by-election.

Instead, he said that the CPI should support Congress candidate Padmavathi Reddy to teach a fitting lesson to anti-people K Chandrashekar Rao government. He said that the CPI leaders should not forget how Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao humiliated the Left parties in the last six years and also questioned their very existence.

He advised the CPI leaders not to fall in TRS party's trap of fake assurances, and support the Congress party in the by-election. Meanwhile, Uttam Kumar Reddy campaigned in Mellachervu, Revooru, Chinthalapalem, Appannapeta, Laxmipuram, Sarvaram, Kondaigudem, Ganugabanda, Parreddy Gudem and Garakunta thandas in Garidepally mandal on Sunday.

He appealed to the voters not to get misled with TRS propaganda and vote for the Congress party. He said that Congress has brought immense development in Huzurnagar and would continue to do so in future.

Congress candidate Padmavathi Reddy would file her nomination papers on Monday in a huge rally and a meeting of Congress workers would be held in the evening at the Public Club in Huzurnagar.
