Fearing of exam failure, three inter students end life in Hyderabad

In separate incidents, two intermediate students committed suicide on Thursday on fearing they may fail in the exams. While one of them ended life hours before the result declaration, another committed suicide after finding out that he failed a subject.

Chegunta Shilpa (18), a second-year intermediate student felt nervous over the results as she was feared of failing a subject. She is also worried about being chided by her parents over the failure and took the extreme step before the announcement of results. After all, she failed to clear a subject as she feared.

She ended her live around 8.30 am on Thursday when her parents were not at home. Her mother Pentamma who returned home had found the girl was dead. The police said that Shilpa, a second-year BiPC student was worried over the results for the last couple of days. Though her father comforted her not to worry over the result, she ended her life, the police added.

In another case, Sandeep, a second-year MPC student ended his life at his home in Nizampet on learning that he failed in mathematics by two marks. Sandeep had informed his father about the results over phone and also discussed the marks with his friends. However, he was found hanging by the time his father reached home in the evening.

In another case, Solam Sarayu (16), a first-year intermediate student, who failed in the exam committed suicide by jumping into an open well at Gudur mandal headquarters in Mahabubabad district on Friday.
